Aviation Study Products
Live
October 2026 royalty and Orders exports agree: 26 net paid units (24 paperbacks and 2 eBooks), all aviation, and $232.01 USD in book-sales royalties. PPL contributed 15 units, Instrument 8, and Commercial 3. Paid royalty rows run October 1–27; 391 normalized pages were read through October 28, with 0 pages listened and 0 refunds. Page reads are engagement, not paid units; Kindle Unlimited earnings are N/A, not zero. September tracking plus October once gives 216 tracked full-catalog books and 207 aviation units / $1,826.24 USD plus €71.47 EUR and A$9.49. These tracked royalties are not settled deposits, profit or ad-attributed revenue. Compare the pilot workbook series →

What Flight Funded Is Measuring

01

Flight hours

The whole point is to reach the next planning threshold, then recheck real operator openings and requirements. This page tracks the hours, the pace, and whether the timeline is actually improving or just getting romanticized.

02

Income quality

Not all revenue is equal. I care about whether an income stream is durable, repeatable, and boring enough to count on. That is why KDP matters more right now than hype around one lucky trade or a flashy launch week.

03

Proof standards

Only reconciled flight-hour and royalty evidence belongs in the headline totals. Other experiments stay outside those totals unless their contribution can be verified.

These pages explain the flying path and the aviation products funding the experiment.

How the Experiment Works

01

The Problem

I need 106.9 more flight hours to reach the 500-hour planning threshold. It is not a universal hiring minimum. At about $200 per hour, it is roughly a $21,380 gap, so I am building useful assets to help fund the next block.

02

The Strategy

I'm building aviation study products that solve specific training problems, then tracking whether reconciled KDP royalties can fund additional flying.

03

The Proof Standard

Headline totals come from the flight log and reconciled KDP exports. Experiments without verified funding contribution stay in the collapsed historical record.

04

The Transparency

I update this page with real numbers from the experiment: flight hours, revenue, and major milestones. No fake wins, no inflated screenshots.

Recent receipts

The latest royalty snapshot and October 2 flight checkpoint are shown with recent royalty history. Expand the older receipts for earlier flight-log updates and complete historical disclosures; their original dates and facts are preserved.

October 2026: 26 net paid aviation units and $232.01 USD in book-sales royalties. The prior-month royalty workbook and Orders export agree: 24 paperbacks and 2 eBooks, with 0 refunds. PPL contributed 15 units, Instrument 8, and Commercial 3. Paid royalty rows run October 1–27; 391 normalized pages were read through October 28, with 0 pages listened. Kindle Unlimited earnings are N/A in the royalty workbook and are not estimated here.

The September 29 checkpoint (190 full-catalog books, 181 aviation units and $1,594.23 aviation USD) plus October once yields these tracked totals. The October 26 snapshot is replaced, not added again. €71.47 EUR and A$9.49 AUD remain separate and unchanged. This is carried-forward tracking, not a fresh full-history export, settled deposits or profit after costs.

Four paperback units ordered in September generated $38.36 USD in October processed royalties. They remain in the October total: order dates and royalty-processing dates are different clocks. Print orders are processed after shipping; these October-processed rows are not subtracted or counted as new September royalties.

Separate Amazon Ads campaign export, with October 1–31 reporting dates confirmed by the account owner (not encoded in the CSV): $108.72 spend, 11 attributed purchases and $230.06 attributed retail sales, or 47.26% retail ACOS. Ads purchases are not additional KDP units; retail sales are not royalties or profit. Campaign totals alone do not establish title-level royalty attribution or profitable scaling.

Oct 26, 2026
October KDP snapshot: 22 net paid paperbacks and $195.50 USD in estimated royalties, all from aviation workbooks. The mix is PPL 15, Instrument 5, and Commercial 2, with 0 refunds. Paid royalty rows run October 1–25. The export also reports 376 normalized pages read through October 21 and 0 pages listened; no page-read revenue is estimated here. Compared with the October 12 audit, that is 10 additional processed units and $81.32 USD; overlapping paid records match. Earlier October snapshots are not added again.
212 tracked books203 aviation units$1,789.73 aviation USD376 October pages read

The existing September 29 checkpoint plus October once produces these tracked totals; €71.47 EUR and A$9.49 AUD remain separate and unchanged. The earlier audit export has the same September totals and no September 30 paid records. This is not a fresh full-range export, a final October close, settled cash, or profit after advertising and other costs.

Separate Amazon Ads export, with the reporting dates confirmed as October 1–26: $94.86 spend, 10 attributed purchases and $205.07 attributed retail sales (46.26% retail ACOS). October 26 is partial and recent click attribution is immature. Ads purchases are not added to KDP units; retail sales are not royalties. Campaign totals cannot isolate the October 22 exclusions or establish their profit impact. HOLD SCALE: the review plan keeps bids and budgets unchanged while the scheduled reviews gather mature evidence.

ForeFlight experience report checkpoint. The report records 393.1 total hours, 274.6 PIC, and 122.5 cross-country. ASEL is 363.0 hours / 271.8 PIC; AMEL is 30.1 / 2.8 PIC. Night remains 37.8, actual instrument 5.4, and simulated instrument 99.4 hours. Aircraft characteristics: 71.1 complex, 46.7 high-performance, 68.7 retractable, and 86.8 TAA hours. C172 remains 311.7 hours / 221.6 PIC across 167 flights. The report totals 212 flights and 611 landings.
393.1 TT274.6 PIC122.5 XC78.6% to 500

At this checkpoint, 400 TT is 6.9 hours away and the 500-hour planning gap is 106.9 hours. At an assumed $200 USD/hour, that is $21,380. The unchanged $1,594.23 USD in estimated aviation royalties through September 29 equals 7.5% of that planning cost, not settled cash or hours purchased. This report does not establish a route, flight date, or current medical or operational eligibility.

September 1–29 snapshot: 33 full-catalog paperbacks, including 32 aviation paperbacks. Estimated royalties are $314.83 USD full catalog / $311.91 USD aviation, with 0 refunds and 523 KENP. The August month-end baseline plus September once yields 190 full-catalog books since January / 181 aviation units since March, with $1,594.23 USD plus €71.47 EUR and A$9.49 in estimated aviation royalties. This is reconciled tracking, not a fresh full-range export, settled cash, profit, or a verified final September close. The October 1 Orders upload confirms this same business snapshot, not additional sales.

Print orders are processed after shipping. This export has no processed Walk Through the Gospels sale, which does not establish zero orders placed. Amazon Ads attribution is separate; no ad-profit or budget-lift claim is made. HOLD SCALE: this KDP snapshot does not clear the advertising proof gate.

September 1–22: 23 full-catalog paperbacks, including 22 aviation paperbacks. Dashboard-estimated royalties are $223.25 USD full catalog / $220.33 USD aviation, with 0 refunds and 394 KENP. The verified August month-end baseline (157 full-catalog books / 149 aviation units) plus this non-overlapping September window yields 180 full-catalog books / 171 aviation units; estimated aviation royalties reach $1,502.65 USD plus €71.47 EUR and A$9.49. Earlier month-to-date snapshots are not added again. These are not settled deposits.
180 tracked books171 aviation units$1,502.65 aviation USD394 September KENP

Separate Amazon Ads campaign CSV supplied September 22: $25.96 spend, 7 attributed purchases, $149.93 attributed retail sales, and 17.31% retail ACOS. The CSV has campaign start dates but no reporting-window fields, so it does not independently verify a September 1–22 Ads window. Retail sales are not royalties, and attributed purchases are not added to KDP units. HOLD SCALE: campaign totals alone do not establish same-window query/target/placement evidence or royalty profit.
